Cistern signs / labels
Cisterns and containers holding gases or liquids need to be clearly labelled. Proper cistern labelling makes it easy to quickly identify the contents and any hazards. Labelling contributes to a safer working environment and reduces the risk of mishandling during operation, servicing and in emergency situations.

Why is cistern labelling important?
Cisterns often contain fuels, chemicals or other dangerous substances that require clear and accurate labelling. With the right tank labelling, you ensure that the contents can be quickly identified and handled safely. This reduces the risk of mistakes, accidents and mishandling - while complying with applicable requirements.
Current requirements for cistern labelling
The requirements for tank labelling in Sweden are mainly based on the Swedish Standard SS 741:2017, which regulates how tanks should be handled. In practice, this means that both the contents and any risks must be clearly stated, and that the labelling must be adapted to the substance and the environment in which the tank is used.
Customised cistern labelling at Collinder
At Collinder, we offer tank labelling for all types of chemicals. On surfaces that are clean and smooth, we recommend using self-adhesive stickers, which are our cheapest option. In environments where stickers are not possible, you can label the tank with a sign instead.
Our signs are available in both plastic and aluminium and the decals are made of PVC-free plastic. All cistern labelling is UV-laminated for good durability in extreme environments. Each sign and decal can hold up to four GHS hazard pictograms.
Swedish standard - meaning of the colours
Cistern labelling in Sweden is based on a common colour standard. The standard is a recommendation.
